A Modelier timepiece is designed to be enjoyed for years with appropriate use and care. Because our watches are individually assembled using different movements, cases, crystals, bracelets and other components, specifications may vary between models.
Always refer to the individual product page for the exact specifications of your watch.
Always ensure that the crown is fully pushed in or, where the watch uses a screw-down crown, properly screwed into position before wearing the watch.
Do not overtighten or force the crown.
Avoid operating the crown or chronograph pushers while the watch is wet or exposed to water.
If the crown feels unusually stiff, loose or difficult to operate, stop using it and contact Modelier Timepieces for assistance.
Water-resistance ratings vary depending on the individual Modelier watch.
Always follow the specific water-resistance rating stated on the relevant product page.
Water resistance does not mean that a watch is waterproof, and water resistance can decrease over time because of gasket wear, impact, ageing, servicing or previous opening of the case.
Where a watch is specified as 3 ATM water resistant, it should be treated as suitable for incidental everyday splashes rather than swimming, showering, diving or prolonged immersion.
We recommend avoiding:
Hot water and steam can affect seals differently from normal ambient water exposure.
If you notice condensation beneath the crystal or suspect that water has entered the watch, discontinue use and contact support@modelierwatches.com as soon as possible.
A defect affecting the watch's stated water resistance remains subject to the terms of our Warranty Policy and applicable statutory consumer rights.
Mechanical watches operate differently from quartz watches and may naturally gain or lose some time during normal use.
Actual performance can vary depending on position, temperature, movement tolerance, activity and level of winding.
If an automatic watch has stopped after not being worn, it may be restarted by gently winding the crown, where the movement supports manual winding, and then wearing the watch normally.
Never force the crown if resistance feels abnormal.
Use care when adjusting the time, date, day or GMT functions of your watch.
For watches with calendar complications, avoid forcing the quick-set date or day functions while the movement's automatic calendar-change mechanism may already be engaged.
If you are unsure, move the hands away from the midnight period before adjusting the calendar functions.
Never force the crown or setting mechanism.
Selected Modelier chronograph watches use TMI VK-series hybrid chronograph movements.
Operate the chronograph using the pushers only when the watch is dry.
If the chronograph hands do not reset correctly or the pushers become difficult to operate, do not force them and contact us for assistance.
Battery replacement should be carried out carefully by a qualified professional, particularly where the case must be opened and resealed.
Although watches are designed for normal everyday use, strong impacts may damage the movement, crystal, dial, hands, crown or other components.
Avoid dropping the watch or wearing it during activities involving repeated heavy shocks or impacts.
Strong magnetic fields may affect the operation and accuracy of mechanical watches.
Where possible, avoid prolonged direct contact with powerful magnets, magnetic clasps, speakers or other strong magnetic sources.
Avoid direct contact with aggressive chemicals, solvents, cleaning agents and other corrosive substances.
Perfumes, cosmetics, sunscreen and similar products may also affect certain finishes, straps or seals over time.
If the watch comes into contact with such substances, gently wipe the exterior with a clean, soft and dry cloth.
For routine cleaning, gently wipe your watch with a clean, soft microfiber cloth.
Do not use abrasive materials, harsh cleaning products or polishing compounds unless they are specifically suitable for the material of your watch.
For leather straps, avoid excessive moisture and allow the strap to dry naturally if it becomes damp.
When not wearing your watch, store it in a clean, dry environment away from excessive heat, humidity and prolonged direct sunlight.
If possible, keep it inside its Modelier box or another suitable watch case to help protect it from scratches, dust and accidental impact.
Mechanical watches contain components that naturally require maintenance over time.
If your watch develops unusual behaviour, significant changes in accuracy, difficulty when operating the crown, moisture beneath the crystal or any other functional issue, contact Modelier Timepieces.
During the Modelier commercial warranty period, we recommend contacting us before arranging third-party repair or opening of the watch, so that we can assess the issue and advise you appropriately.
Unauthorised work does not automatically remove mandatory statutory consumer rights. However, damage directly caused by improper repair, modification or disassembly may not be covered by the Modelier commercial warranty.

Following these care recommendations helps protect the condition and performance of your Modelier timepiece.
Damage caused by misuse, accidental impact, exposure beyond the stated specifications, improper handling or unauthorised work may fall outside the scope of the Modelier 1-Year Limited Commercial Warranty, as described in our Warranty Policy.
However, failure to follow a care recommendation does not automatically cancel the entire warranty, and nothing in this Watch Care guide limits or removes any mandatory statutory consumer rights.
Each warranty claim is assessed according to the nature and cause of the reported issue.
